Caterpillars, Silk Worms and So Much More
In the month of May we have made changes to our class room. We changed our play dough to the color yellow and we brought in to our classroom caterpillars and silk worms. The children have enjoyed watching the caterpillars crawl and hang in their cocoons. The children are patiently awaiting their transformation into butterflies. The children have been learning about the shape of a diamond, with their first and last name in them. At the end of month we will be taking a train trip. We will be talking about trains and making trains in anticipation of our trip.
Megan and I would like to thank all of our parents for all the help and support you have given us. Being that this is our first year with Millbrae Nursery School, we want to thank everyone who has been helpful and encouraging in what we have done and what we hope to do. It has been a pleasure to watch the children grow and develop so much from the beginning of the year. The kiddos have been so much more vocal in being able to express themselves and even carry on conversations with each other. It has been a great pleasure and privilege to teach them and watch them grow. Megan and I hope that you all have a great summer and can’t wait to see you again in the fall.

Learning, Exploring and Working Cooperatively with Each Other.
What a school year it has been. WE started out with 15 boys and less then 5 girls. It was hard to get the kiddos to walk inside much less try to sit at the table. And now the growth in these kiddos, each year it always amazes me. The THREE’S are enjoying extended conversations at circle time, taking turns and playing board games until the game is completed.
Participating at the art table is another area now explored. Story time, predicating the outcome of the stories we read, they have done a wonderful job learning, exploring and working cooperatively with each other.
They all are effective learners. Continue to work and expose your kiddos to learning lessons through the summer months. The learning lessons never stop. These little ones are so inquisitive. It is because of your support and love that they continue to blossom. Well done FAMILIES!! Have a wonderful, restful, renewing summer. Thank you for this opportunity to work with you and your kiddos.
Always, Teacher Brigidan

Summer is approaching…
I can’t believe the school year is over. It has gone by so fast! Can you see how much your little one has grown? It seems like just yesterday that Aidan was walking into his first day in Teacher Megan and Teacher Norma’s class, and Dylan was excited to meet his new Pre-K teacher, Teacher Liselle.
Summer is approaching and for many of us will be just as busy as the school year. But maybe we can take a few moments to sit down and reflect. Reflect on what has passed these past nine months. What has changed in your life? What has improved? What new things is your child doing now? What things did they learn this year at Millbrae Nursery School? What did YOU learn this year at Millbrae Nursery School?
Even though it’s not the beginning of the calendar year, I like to take the end of the school year to set some goals out of that reflection time. What do I want this summer for myself and my family? What are my business goals? My personal goals? My goals to enrich the lives of my family?
Now is the time to set these goals and make plans, while we are winding down one phase of our lives and beginning a new one. I wish you all a wonderful, full, enriching summer. For those families moving on, best wishes to you in your future endeavors, and to those remaining,
I look forward to seeing you next school year!
Sincerely, Heather

With Gratitude
Dear Families,
As I think of this journey we have all been a part of, this school year, I become overwhelmed with the feeling of pride and joy for our kiddos and the families here in Millbrae Nursery School. Together, we have learned about so many matters and subjects, (way too much to list.) Just think of the potential for each kiddos’ future! My thoughts of our days together inspire me daily. What are your favorite memories of this year? Thank you so much for everyone’s participation. I can’t wait for our train field trip, end of the year celebration and I hope to see you all during the Posey Parade to represent our school!
With gratitude,
Teacher Liselle

Our school year is coming to an end.
Our school year is coming to an end. There has been so much growth in these kiddos! We, the Staff, have been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to watch their growth.
The teachers are very busy finishing up their work for the school year and we/I want to take this opportunity to thank all of our families for their commitment to our school and your child’s first educational experience. It is because of your work that we are able to continue striving to be a great program.
It is always hard to say goodbye; sadly, a few board members will be graduating out of our school and off to Elementary. I would like to thank them for the work that they have done.
Deborah Hesse – Purchaser and caregiver to our rabbits and chicken. She has kept our pantry well stocked and has been devoted to the care of our animals!
Jennifer Hoskins – Financial Clerk: She kept our extended care billing in great order, and has worked at all of our fundraising events.
Sherry Scardino – Fundraising Chair: managed our many fundraising events, most recently the Silent Auction. It was a successful and fun evening.
Susan Miranda- Publicity; posted and organized our newsletter and social events to help keep you informed.
Thelma Hernandez- Secretary: Kept the minutes for our board and business meetings.
Katarine Amaral-Carneiro- Housekeeping; she kept our school looking clean and fresh. Helping to preserve a clean place for our children to learn.
Juan Becerra- Maintenance: He has kept our school safe and repaired. Keeping our school a safe place for our children to play.
They all have done an amazing job. The Staff, Board members and I thank you!
We couldn’t have done it with out your commitment.
THANK YOU!!!
I hope all of you have an opportunity to come back and visit us. We love to hear about the new changes in your life.
Always, Teacher Brigidan
