Food: For safety reasons, Millbrae Nursery school is a no-nut & no Strawberry facility at all times. No kind of tree nuts or strawberries can be brought on the premises, even during non-class events. Children with special diets (such as vegetarian) or children with food allergies can be accommodated during lunch and snacks. We do ask the parent to supply a food to substitute (for example gluten-free bread) we can give, in case there is no alternative.

Registration Fee: A non-refundable registration fee of $60.00 will be paid by each family enrolling in Millbrae Nursery School. This fee includes insurance and is based on the school year September through June.

Family Discounts: There is a 20% enrollment discount on the second and subsequent child in one family. This applies only to tuition.

Siblings during work days: You may bring one sibling under 2 years old or over 7 on your parent workday, subject to approval. Check with the teacher to clear this prior to bringing in a sibling. Siblings 2 years old or more are billed the extended care fee, and they also need to be approved by the teacher if space is available.

Attendance: Children 2 years old are required to attend a minimum of 2 days per week. Children 3 years old are required to attend a minimum of 3 days per week.

Participation: This is a co-op nursery school that relies upon the participation of the members to operate. Parents are required to attend all business meetings, maintenance, housekeeping, parent education meetings and participate in fundraising unless they have elected to not participate in one or more areas and are paying the buyout fee as listed on the tuition schedule.

Children will be charged $2.50 per meal for breakfast, lunch or after school snack .

Withdrawal/Change of Schedule: Families must give four weeks notice in writing prior to requesting a schedule change or when withdrawing their child from school. Families wishing to return after withdrawing are not guaranteed a space and must pay a new registration fee and deposit applicable to new enrollees. Families who wish to change their schedule are asked to give notice prior to the 25th of the current month to make changes to the child’s up coming attendance schedule.

Holidays/Missed Days: Tuition is continuous throughout the school year (taking into account the days the school is closed) and guarantees a reservation for your child at the School for the 10-month School Year designated on the School Calendar. No credit will be given for holidays, student absences or illnesses. Holidays for the School Year are shown on the School Calendar given to enrolled families. No credit/refund will be owed if the School must close because of an emergency or inclement weather.

Fees: Tuition and extended care are due at the first of the month and are considered delinquent after the 10th. A late charge of $15 will be charged on all delinquent accounts. Accounts will be charged a $15 bank fee for any returned checks. If account is not paid by the 15th the child will not be allowed to attend class.

  • Parents/Family member work as assistants to the teaching staff on assigned participation day (3.5 hrs 1 time per week, 8:45 a.m. – 12:15).  Each member that participates  in the classroom must be in good health, over 18 years of age and with a verification of freedom from tuberculosis.
  • It is important to be on time for your workday, be 5 – 10 min. early if possible.  If late,   please call.
  • Please accompany your child in and out of the classroom each day.  Your child must be  signed in and out whenever he/she is in attendance at school.  The time and your full signature are required.  The sign in/out sheet will be located inside of the classroom.
  • Upon arriving at school parents are asked to take their child to the bathroom to wash their (both parent & child) hands.
  • Children are not allowed to go through the double doors unless accompanied  by an adult to go home or in the kitchen except for an injury or putting an egg in the  kitchen.   Please supervise the doors carefully whether or not you are a working parent.
  • If you or your child are ill and will miss your scheduled workday, you must exchange workdays with another participating parent or make a request more than 24 notice to have someone replace you.  It is your responsibility to speak with your child’s teacher and/or admissions coordinator regarding your absence so that a replacement will be arranged for the workday.  You are required to pay the fee as stated on the tuition schedule, if you do not hire a worker and/or do not show up for your workday, your child will not attend school until your next workday.
  • A shoebox with a change of clothes is needed at school and will be kept in the    children’s bathroom.  Do try to check it regularly.  Include diapers and wipes if your child needs them.      Bottles and pacifiers should be left at home for health and safety reasons.    Please mark your child’s clothing with their name to help the working adults keep track of jackets & clothing
  • Always inform the teacher of all injuries no matter the severity.  All blood injuries    will be dealt with by the teacher.
  • General rules for inside and outside are posted throughout the class.  Please refer to them or ask the teacher if you are not sure.

We are a NO Nut & NO Strawberry Facility.
  • When outside, if assigned the horse swing area, children may never be left   unattended.  Please keep the gate shut and children may wait their turn on the other side of the safety gate.
